Good lord is that the time??? Look at that it's been nearly TWO YEARS since I last did a post!!!! How could this be? Well it's pretty simple actually, life and my career have gotten in the way and I am finally finding time to sit down and write. Now today is a very special day...it is, in fact, the second day of spring and we are in the midst of our first snow storm of the year! Happy spring, am I right? I think that's enough dilly dallying...on to the post!!!!!
Okay, so if my readers recall, about this time two years ago I discovered that I was allergic to Too Faced products. Well in that two years, I have found a multitude of things I can't use. Mostly eye stuff, and it has become annoying!!!! I have been searching non stop for a mascara I can use on it's own that doesn't kill my eyes. I have quickly found that Urban Decay is falling further and further down my list of things I can use and higher onto my list of things I cannot use! So, although I am still constantly searching, my current go to is "Lights, Camera, Lashes" from Tarte. I have been reaching out and trying some drug store brands, as those brands have been stepping up their game to compete with big name products, but the search still goes on! If anyone has any recommendations, drop them down in the comments or send me an email and I will gladly give it a try!,
One thing I have been stepping my own game up with is Skin Care!!!! Lawd can I tell you, good skin is the basis for all great makeup! I have been using eye creams, serums, everything!! My current favorites have been Origins High Potency Night-a-mins cream at night and Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturizer during the day. I have also been using Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash as my cleanser.....okay I have been on an Origins kick. But to be fair, their products are amazing!!!! I think my most recent and two best finds have been in the serum department. A while back, I had to say goodbye to my lovely Shiseido Ultimune Power serum, as it ran out and is $67. I have been searching for a dupe and had not found a single one! I even Googled for a dupe and nothing! So we took a family trip out to Wal-Mart a couple weeks ago and E.L.F. has been stepping up their game big time! They now have a bunch of new products that are absolutely amazing!!! So I picked up their Beauty Shield Vitamin C Pollution Prevention Serum and not only does it do the exact same thing the Shiseido does, but it does more and for only $16! I then had heard a lot about using Hyaluronic Acid Serum and it being amazing! I bought it this past weekend and I am in LOVE! My skin feels so much better just from using it this weekend. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally produced in your skin and only one drop of it can hold 1000x its weight in water. It is a heavy duty moisturizing serum without feeling heavy! I only bought an ounce, but once I run out, I will be buying more!
And now, for the main event! About two weeks ago I was contacted by someone who read my blog about the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, which I still love, but I have just now reached back into my goodie bag to use it again! Back to the story, I was contacted by someone saying how much she loved that review and how she has a foundation guide that she wanted to share with me, in the interest of sharing it with you, my readers! Now I may or may not have jumped up and down and squealed in delight that someone messaged me about a blog post I wrote! So with the link she sent me, away I went on searching through their resources about foundations! Now as we all know, it is hard as all hell to find the perfect foundation, between finding one for your skin tone and type, in your budget, and just finding one that is worth it that will stay on. It is hard! I can't even begin to tell you how many foundations I have in my room and at least half of them are the wrong color undertone or just don't do anything to keep my oily skin at bay! So looking at their site, I was amazed! Taking the time to test so many foundations and write up a review to help anyone and everyone, well that's what I wanted to do when I started this blog. I wanted to help people and it would honestly be a crime in and of itself if I didn't share this with you all! So if you are in the market for new foundation and don't have the time, the energy, or the funds, which let's face it, none of us do, to go out and test foundations upon foundations upon foundations, just to be disappointed when we've spent so much on a flop yet again.....where was I? Oh yeah! Head on over to https://www.reviews.com/foundation/ and check out their blog! Even if you aren't in the market, it is so worth the read just to see. Maybe you'll discover a foundation you can try after the one you're using is gone!
Thank you all for bearing with me all these years since this blog started! Happy 4 year anniversary everyone!!!!!!!!!!
